After analyzing the site, my initial response or intervention was to construct two walls behind the existing buildings, thereby reinforcing the wall-like effect of the buildings. The spaces in between form natural links with the large commercial street, and the wall serves as an armature for the markets. The walls, in effect, form a second pedestrian street, but on a smaller scale than Delancey Street.
